6-day Safari through the lush and diverse Okavango Delta

Okavango Safari

Your African adventure

The Okavango River runs with inexorable force into the dry scrubland, thereby transforming it into one of the most diverse areas of Africa. The Okavango Delta, which is visible even from outer space, forms the biggest inland delta on Earth. Here, the Moremi Game Reserve and the vast Chobe National Park set the scenery of unparalleled game viewing.

The 6-day camping safari will explore this lush paradise. We will camp in comfortable dome tents under the African night skies. Fall asleep by the sound of roaring lions and wake up to the spectacular soundscape this wilderness has to offer. Our 6-day delta camping safari is perfect for wildlife enthusiasts, bird-lovers, passionate photographers and everyone else that enjoys the iconic African nature.

Day one

Your guide meets you at Maun international airport and transfers you to Sitatunga camp, where you have time to unpack, shower and unwind. In the afternoon an optional scenic flight offers you a spectacular aerial view of the Okavango Delta.

Day two

We make an early start and drive through traditional villages before getting to the southern tip of the Okavango Delta. Once we have reached the edge of the delta, you will meet your polers from the local community with their mekoros (traditional dugout canoes).

You will spend the whole day exploring this beautiful area with the mokoro excursion, and guided nature walks on the islands and floodplains of the Okavango. The chances are that you encounter giraffe and other antelope during your walk.

Late afternoon you make your way back to the mokoro station where the vehicle will take you back to Sitatunga camp. Time to shower and relax before dinner is served.

Day three

Having had breakfast, we take a morning drive through traditional villages before entering the south gate into Moremi game reserve. Our drive takes us through Moremi to the Xakanaka lagoons.

Arrive in camp, shower before the dinner is served.

Overnight Moremi.

Day four

After breakfast, we start our morning drive on an exciting riverine route through Moremi to arrive in our camp within sight of Khwai river at Moremi's North gate.  Khwai offers impressive sightings since the Khwai River is a primary water source in the area. It is also an area where we can do night drives and exit the car during a game drive.

Overnight Khwai.

Day five

Early morning and afternoon game drives exploring the Khwai area should reveal a large variety of game. Back in camp around 11:00hrs for our delicious brunch. Time to relax in the afternoon before we start our search for wildlife and sundowner drink along the Khwai River.

Overnight Khwai.

Day six

After a leisurely breakfast, it is time to pack up and slowly make our way back to Maun. Now is our last chance to spot those animals that might have avoided us the previous days. Lunch en route.
We should arrive in Maun early afternoon for your onward journey.
